TH E CONVENT SCHOOL.
ANNUAL EN”I‘ER'I‘AINMENT. - The entertainment iannually given by the scholars of the Taihape Convent School will take place in the Town Hall this evening. The programme is undoubtedly the best the scholars have ever put before :1 Taihape audience. There are vocal and instrumental numbers, consisting of piano and violin items, solos, part songs, action pieces, recitations, and dances_ A very aniusing playlet, “The Suffragettes” will keep the audience amused, and there is a very pretty little scene entitled “Soot and the Fairies,” in which quite a number of boys and girls are engaged. The characters are various, ranging from the regal Queen of the Lilies to the funny young Wag. A fu.ll-dress rehearsal was held to—day, and everything went with 3. vim and precision which speaks well for -the training of the performers, which has been in hand for many weeks past. Some of the songs are quite new to Taihape, and one or two of the humorous ones will certainly bring down the house. All those who desire to spend an enjoyable evening should make a point of being present at the Town Hall to-night.
