The revenue received during the financial year commencing on April Ist, -and ending Nevenrber Sth, was £3,123,864 15/7:, fwhile }the [expenditure amounted to £2,306,744 4/. The receipts from the sections in the North Island totalled £1.274,357~11/7, and in the ,s_'outh Island the figures were: Receipts‘. £1,33.0.931 7/1, expenditure £'1.032,35(3 12/5. Thg Main Trunk line was the best revenue-pro-ducing section in the North Island, and the VVeSt.pol"t section in the South Island.
