FEDERAL ELECTIONS. _ LATEST SUMMARY. SYDNEY, December 15. The latest summary of the election returns shows that 23 Nationalists are elected and ten are in lezTding positions. Three farmers have been elected and five are leading_ ~, Fourteen Labour-ites have been elected and 20 are leading. . ‘-:. ' Mr Poynton has secured a slight majority over the Labour candidate and his return is regarded as almost certain. . There seems little chance of Mr We-bsterand Senator Russell recoving their seats.
NATIONALISTS LEADING. e SYDNEY, Dec. 16. To-night’s count gives the Nationalists 33 seats, Labour 28, Farmers’ Party 14. NATIONAL LEAD INCREASING. For the Referendum “No.” is still leading except in Victoria and Queensland where “Yes” is leading on both questions. In West Australia “Yes” is leading on Monopolies. The Senate votin3g_n'ow shows a possibility of the whole 18 vacancies being filled by Nationalists.
