V ‘ “My opinion is that the nw-3.era.';e . use of good ale or wine is often beneficial, but that Whenever (lrmk is available it is practically impos~ sible to control it, with the result ‘that any benefit derived from its use is very sinaliin co-m'pal-ison W-Uh’ ' the crime, sickness and suffering caused by its misuse. “For this reason I consider that the moderate should make a sacrifice for the good of the country.” Major-Genel;al Chaytor is the new G.0.C., N.Z_ Defence Forces.
