ELECTION CAMPAIGN
RANGITIKEI ELECTORATE. Mr Glenn, Reform candidate, spoke at Toaroa last evening, receiving. a very cordial hearing, and the programme of the party for which the candidate stands was lucidly explained. Mr D. G.bGordon occupied the chair. Mr Glenn received the usual votes. Mr Glenn also delivered an address at Pukeokahu, Mr Doole presiding over a very enthusiastic meeting. - On Friday night Mr Glenn will appear at the Town Hall, when Taihape residents will have an opportunity of hearing a fearless and -outspoken speaker, 3. 111-321 whose sense of duty led him to consent to fill a gap at the eleventh hour in the ranks of his party, caused ‘by the -sudden indisposition of Mr B. P. Lethbridge. On the football field Mr Glenn was noted for “straight running,” and those who hear him on Friday night, Will admit that he can talk just as straight. Mr W. Meldruin, Liberal candidate for Rangitikei, addressed a. large meetin_9; at Koeke last night. Mr Meldrum met with a very gratifying reception, and was attentively listened to throughout his. lengthy address. An enthusiastic vote of thanks and confidence was accorded the candidate, after :1 few questions had been asked and satisfactorily answered. a MR WILFORD AT HAWéE.'RA. HAWERA, This Day. Mr T. Wilfol'd addressed a packed meeting here last evening, his speech being on the lines of that delivered at Tltham. The speaker had a. very good hearing, and at the conclusion a vote of thanks to him and confidencé in the Liberal Party was can-ic(l without dissent.
