TAIHAPE BOWLING CLUB NOTES.

The bowling green was formally opened for the season 1919-20 on Thursday last, by the President, Mr A. G. Lawson. There were over twenty members presnt and"‘one visitor. A very dainty tea was provided by Mrs‘ Lawson, who was the only lady who honoured the occasion by her presence. ' The President, inter alia, apologised for the a‘bsence of the Vice-President, Mr D. Neagle. The following teams were picked for the President and Vice-Pr-sident respectively:— ’; Presidents. Howens, McKcn:'ie, Archer, Lawson, 16; T. Williams, Aldridge, Meldrum, Wrightson, 18; Joyes, Cunningham, De Luen, Barman, 18. Total 52. Vice-President.-. Loader, Upchurch, Fookes, Reddick, 26; Gardner, McLaren, Wham, Stent, 23; Mortland, Ward, Shanlely, Burrell, 27. Total 76. Members are asked to take note of the posters on the wall re Wanganui Christmas Tournament.
