INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.
R'[3]C‘UR-RENCE NOT/LIKELY. . WELLINGTON, Nov. 18. During the week ending November 17th 31 cases of influenza were reported in the Vvellington Health District. Discussing the position with u reporter, Dr. W-att, District Health Othcer, pointed to the fact that out of 31 case notified only three were pneumonie_ Th_is was‘nothing rernzu-keible in the health of 3 district the size of ‘V7S/Tulliligton. Asked if the cases of gastric influenza V\’(f‘]'C‘l)l‘CVhlC]l.t in the district, Dl‘. VV{ltt replied that only Very few had been‘ reported. It was not the type of disease that was so disastrous last November. He said the g‘astri(: form is one of the recognised types of influenza, but it is not a severe, manifest-.1ti.0-n of thg disease. During the big epidemic last year there was comparatively little .gas'tl'ic ‘influeirza. It. had been known in past epidemics, but there was nothing essentially dangerous labout ilt.
