Several assailants were arrested. An inquiry has opened. ‘ ALIENS IN BRITAIN. A MODERATE EXCLUSION. LONDON, Nov. 15. In the House of Commons an amendment was moved tofifhe Aliens Bill to exclude former enemy aliens from the Kingdom for seven years, instead of the Go.vernmenf’s proposed two years. Mr E. Shortt (Secretary of State for Home Affairs) offerecl three years as (L compromise, and this was oarried. A new clause was also carried prohibiting former enemies having an interest. in ‘British liaml, km-y linddstries, ‘or shipping during {he same period. The Bill was passed.
