The ehildren’s plain and fancy dress ball, to held on the 14th of the month gives promise -of being a very great success. The committee met on Saturday afternoon to receive a report from those appointed t3‘ eanvaass for help towards the éupper, and the members present were more than delighted with the report, the Taihape people having responded in their usual’ generous way. Several of the canv-assets reported‘ that owing to want of time they were not able to call at every house, and the Commilfitee wou!d request those people who were not asked anéd who are willing to help, to send word to the hon. secretaries, or to «any member of the Committee. The next meeting takes place at the Mayor ’s room, Town Hall, at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
