TAIHAPE DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
The monthly meeting <3? the Taihape District High School was -held on Monday evening, there being present: ‘Mesdames de\ Latour, and Randall, Messrs 1-locking, Denness, Sherwin, Burrell and Swindells (chairman).
The minutes of the previous meet~ ing was read and confirmed. It was resolved that an invitation be extended to the headmaster to attend the meetings of the committee. The -Education Board notified that the schools‘ would be closed for theChristmas holidays from December 18th, re-opening on February 3rd.
‘A letter was received from the Education Board with regard to the vote of censure passed bytlxo committee on the representative for the district, and it was resolved that the secretary write to the Board that had the facts as conVe.yL-(1 in their letter of the 29th been previously forthcoming no ‘vote of censure would have been passed. The report of the headmaster was rec-eived. ~

Re repairs at school, it was resolved thatwin view of the fact that nothing’ had been done Evith regard to the erection of the shelter sheds, etc. since the last meeting, that the whole matter be placed before the Minister of Education, members remarking tliat‘ it was now twelve months since one of the sheds had been destroyed by a gale." .
A notice of motion was tabled torescind alresolution passed at the last meeting of the committee With regard to the erection of a memorial in the school grounds. The chairman and Mrs Randall were appointed a visiting Committee for the month, and also to act with the headmaster and st‘aff in making pl-eliminary arl°angelnlents for the school picnic. ‘Mr W2irdell’s account of £7 10/‘ was passed for payment.
