At eight o’clock last night it ‘coninienced to snow, and continued well into the night, at good three inches having fallen. The limbs of trees in orchards were broken in all directions with the weight of the snow, and serious damage to gardens is reported. Telephone communication is interrupted with the country districts. The snowstorms may mean loss of many reccntly~ shorn sheep. It is about thirty years since the district had a similar visitation in Novcniber.
