SYNTHETIC PETROL.
A CHALLENGE ACOEPTED. LONDON, Oct. 14. Cghe Daily Express states that the inventor of the synthetic motor fuel, replying to a challenge, consented to an exhaustive trial_ He offi-.-reli his fuel to th.e War Oflice when petrol was scarce, but refused to disclose his formula, and no Ibusiness rasulterl. The manager of the Scooter Meter Company states that he -has usedthe fuel while journeying hundreds of imiles, and his engine was not injured. A recent cablegram stated that interesting experiments were made in Nottingham with a. new motor fuel, the invention of a South American, M. Andreade. Its cost is 5d a gallon, and it is a mixture of Water, and a secret compound. Tests produced smooth, rapid speed, and altogether the results were encouraging.
