| TEA UP TO 4/ A LB. | “I s the Prime Miinster aware,” askj ed Mr W, H. Field (Otaki) on Tuesi day, “that tea is likely to increase in the near future to something like 4a pound all round Is there any justification for such, a rise; and will the Prime Minister urge the Board of Trade to take vigorously in hand the work of keeping down the increasing cost of living?” Mr Massey stated that he had heard that there was a serious shortage in the tea crop. He would ash the Board of Trade to inquire into the rumour. There may be nothing in the rumour, but it is certain that if State Control of the Liquor Traffic is carried something will need to be heavily taxed to meet the £15.000,0(10 necessary to purchase the Trade and tea, sugar and tobacco are likely commodities. By striking out the two top lines you most surely help to keep down the cost of living.—Advt.
