THE KING'S. ' TO-N»IGHT—CHARLIE CHAPLIN. It is a. matter Ofrare occurrence that one is able to see in the one programme Charlie Chaplin and one of his imitators. In “Carmen” Chaplin’s wonderful burlesque of the grand opera, in which he appears as “Darn Hosiery,” a perversion of Don Jose, the laughter king is ably supported by his beautiful partner, Edna, Purviance, as Carmen. On the same pl'ogl'anlmC is the burlesque of Chaplin's burlesque by “Chip” Monahan who appears as “Bon Dose,” with his diminutive sister as Carmen. The spirit of the picture is mostly youthful, the supporting company being all juveniles, and therein lies most of its chal'm_ The original burlesque has been travestied in a touching yet ludicrous manner, and the cleverness of the imitation that flatters is very apparent when" the original is seen along with the juvenila performance.
An o'. Henry story, delightfully told in ‘the author’s inimitable style, and filmed and presented in a. manner that runs prfection close is “Vanity and Some Sables!’ The stars in this remal‘ka'.b~le two part production are Wallace MacDonald, Mildred Manning and Robert Gaillard.
To-nlorroW;ight there will be shown a wonderful eight-reel feature “Lest We Forget,’,~’ starring Miss Rita Jolivet, the famous operatic star, who was a victim of the sinking of the Lusitania. Miss Jqlivet was in France when war broke out, and in “Lest We Forget” some of her actual experiences are depicted. I .
