I ;\ mceaing of the eornmittee was held in the nurse’s room, Town Hall, on ‘Friday, October 3rd. Present: Mes. dames Arrowsmith (chair), McCormick,~ ,lLoughn:ln, De Lautour, and the seere-3, I tary. Apologies were received from ‘ Mesdarnes Joblin, Emerson, Timbs, and Son'-.erv.ille. ‘ The committee decided to hold a saleOf }).:‘odu<:.c on Wednesday, October‘ «A 29th, to raise funds for the expenses ,0f the Society. Final zlrrangements . were left to a special meeting, to be held on Friday, 10th inst, Nurse Mcßride reorted that there are now 140 babies on the books——Taihape 76, Mangaweka 24, Hunterville 29, Ohaa. kune 11. During the month of Septem. ber, four new cases were entered, and one has left the district. Visits to , homes nxmlbered 114, and visitors to the Plunket. rooms totalled 84-339 adults i and 45 children. A special meeting of the Conlhiitteewas held .in_ the nurse ’s room. on Friday, October 10th. Present: Mesdames: Arrowsmith (chair), Thurston, Emerson, Bennett, - Ti-mbs, _Somerville, Mercer, Matthews, De Lautour, Loughnan, and the -secretary. This meeting was called to make final arrangements for the special effort; in aid of funds! for the Society. It Was: decided to have street stalls erected om the Bank (Australasia), and Post Ofiicer corners. As the committee have to depend on the publie—-town and” country—_for donations of produce and‘. flowers, it is hoped that. in view of the importance of the effort, the responsewill be generous. Produce may be left at the stalls on: the morning of the .29th inst.
