KOEKE PLAIN AND FANCY DRESS BALL.

(F; -our Own Correspondent_The above ball tookgplace last Friday night, in the woolshed, Siberia, and was in every way a complete s-uc-ljcess. A strong working committee, llcomposed principally of the Siberia station hands, had transformed the large ‘wool-room into a veritable ballroom, great care and attention having been given to the floor, which had, beep in preparation for nearly a fortnight beforehand. ‘About eight o’clock the guests began to assemble, and included Visitors from Mataroa, Ruanui, Pohonui and Rangiwaea. The following appeared in fancy costumes, viz.:——Mrs C. Revel], “The Road to Ruin”; Mrs L. Revell, “Japanese Lady”; Miss McDonnell,‘RangiWaea, “Nightf; Miss Hazel Aitchison, “Paritaloon”;' Miss Davis. “Japanese Lady”; two charming .“Red Cross Nurses” were represented by the Misses Mona Davis and Cissy Harris; Miss Jean Davis, “Schoolgirl”; Miss Molly Revell, “Crosspatch,”; Miss Len Bowick, “Some She.” Of the gentlemen Mr C. Revel], “Too Soon”; Mr L. Revell, “Stars and Stripes” (particularly good); Mr N. Smith, “Toulous and Toulouse’.’; Mr J_ Gerrand, “Nig-j ger”; Mr W. Thompson, ' “Captain: Starlight”; Mr J. Lilburn, “Cowboy”; l -Mr (Jock) Aitchison, “Highlander-.”;l Master Lewis Revell, “Sailor Boy”; and Master W. Harris, “Frenchl Clown.” The costumes were exceed-I ingly good, and reflccted great credit; on the improvisors. Mrs Frank Howie very kindly presided at the piano for the gvening, ably assisted by Mr Tll_ompson_ Ext'ras were also played by Miss Bryant (an' Au‘ckland lady) and Miss McDonnell.

Messrs F. Deany and (Jock) Aitchison made very efficient M.C’s., the latter gentleman‘ also as hon. secretary, very considerably added to the enjoyment of the evening by his great attention to every detail. Dancing broke up just as the early Skylark started his ‘song, when all expressed thex_nSelV_eg as having spent a most enjoyable evening.
