The profits of the Army and Navy Canteen Board and the Expeditionary Force Canteen are the subject of’ much curiosity at tho momellt,_us it is ru-moui-ed they are about: to be dispersed. sziys “Clubman’ ’in the “Pall Mall c:.av,;ette,” I am infoi-med that at a low estimate, they amount to the enormous sum of fifteen millions Sterling. This {money is the direct property of all El-anks of the Navy and Army, as it has 3been amassed by the sale of goods‘ in‘ all the canteens during the war, and under the distinct understanding that ‘it to be used for ‘the benefit of all; There are now_ committees sitting to. endeavour to arrive at it fair fpi-o_pm{-',_ tion to be distributed be’rwe,en' the var, ious Services, andythat sub-Coimmittces -have_.bcen formed to decide the dimcult question of distribution between the demobilised portion of the community and those still serving. .
