She studied under Ettore B'arili, and made her debut in the Academy of Music in New York, in 1859. She appeared at the Italian Opera House, Covent Garden, in “La Sonnainbula/” two years later. From then till. her retirement, Patti was the idol of vthe‘ operatic world.
