AN OPTIMISTIC PROHIBITIONIST.
Received 8.45 a._m. OTTAWA, Sept. 29. Mr George Bell, of Victoria (8.C.), addressing a prohibition meeting at Toronto, said that the defeat of prohibition in New Zenland was brought about by the people's dislike to paying compensation. He predicted that when the vote is taken again in November or December with the compensation clause eliminated, victory for Vpi-ohibitioll'wi]l be overwhelming.
