THE BOLSHEVIKS. DENIKIN’S SUCCESS CONFIRMED LONLON, Sept. 2-0. The War Office states that Demkin’s success around Tsaritsin continues. Volunteers occupied Baran ovka, taking prisoner 1400. Wranglr-3, assisted by tanks, rcp_ulSed an attack on Pichlega.
The Bolsheviks crossed the Khoper river northward of E-'he~ junction \_vi.+,ll the Don river, on a fol-ty-five miles front. The ‘situation ire. well in hand. Denikin occupied Riski, but evacuated it taking 2000 prisoners. Mamontov has apparently joined Denikin.
-It is reported that the eighth Soviet army is retiring in disorder. Volunteers captured 5000 at Kurisk and 1200 at Sehligri. An entire battalion surrendered at Cononevo. GERMAN HOSTAGES SHOT. Received noon. ILONDON, Sept. 26. A German wireless states that the Bolsheviks, who were evacuating Kieff, shot two German hostages and abducted others. The Government has demanded the repatriation of those abducted, and an immediate letter of explanation re. garding the shootings.
