OPENING OF ZEEBRUGGE.

The port of Zeebrugpge was forinally re-opened on June 14. Although for some time extensive use may not be made of the port commercially, all necessary connections are re-estab-lished and the place is once more in direct t-ouch with the rest of Belgium. The completion -of this work Was marked by picturesque ceremonies. Baron Derychel, with Admiral Dampier from Dover, standing by ‘his side, drove a tramcar across the new bridge crossing ‘the canal just. above the. block of ships, Brigadier-General Sir Alexander Gibb drove the first train to the Mole. The train crossed a bridge built over the gap blown in the Mole by the submarine-. In the train were the Belgian Ministers and many British naval and military officers. On arrival on the Mole they were received by Coimnodore dZ'oung, and inspected ‘the salvage works in prog.ress_ On the Mole bands played, and its approaches were lined with children waving the Allied flags.
