GISBORNE, This Day.
Glorious weather favoured the visit of H.M.S. New Zealand, which called in the roadstcad en route to Auckland yesterday afternoon. Crowds lined the beaches aad hilixsides. Large numbers of school boys were taken out in tenders, who cheered the New Zealand as she slowly stezimed by.

i Late yesterday afternoon W. J. sßiggs, motor upholsterer, Masterton, ‘was killed at Taratahi as a. result of a ;motor car he was driving capsizing on ithe 1-bad through the tyre bursting. iMl's Biggs was injured internally, and gKat.hleen Biggs, aged 12, had her eol~ Tlarbone broken, while four others of .:thc- deceased’s children received a I severe shaking; and minor injuries.
