The usual monthly meeting Of the committee was held in the Nurse's Room, Town Hall, on Friday, sth ins: Present: - I\/lésdanies Al-rowsmit'.l (chair), McLennan, -somorvnie, Timbs. Thurston, Joblin, Mercer, Emerson, de Lautour, Shute and the secretary. Before commencing the routine business thepresident, in a few appreciative Words, referred to the late Mrs’ Carr. Mrs Carr had been president of the Central Council since the inaiig uration of the Society, and was the right hand ofVDr Truby King, and proved herself a keen and enthusiastic ‘worker. The president moved “That lthis Branch of the Society I'CCOl'da' its sense of the deep loss the Society has sustained by the-_ death of Mrs Carr, and its sympathy with her relative-., and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the deceased lady.’s husband and to the Central Council.” This resolution was passed in silt fence, the committee standing. r The minutes of the August meeting: were read and confirmed and a copy of the minutes of the Central Council was received. .
The cor‘fi’nlittee decided to hold a. shop day at the end of October to help to raise funds in aid of the !Wanganul' Plunket Baby Hofnej The exact date of the Sale of Work will be fixed at the October meeting_ . Nurse Mcßride reported that there were 137 babies on the books:~—Taihape, 74; Mangaweka, 24; Huntcrvilla. 29; Ohakune, I'o.
During the month 110 visits were paid to homes, and visitors to fhe offices numbered 43 adults and 38 ohild~ ren. ~
