The Trades Union Congress has decided to promote a oampaign in favour of the speedy admission of Germany into the League of Nations, and a revision of the harsh -provisions «of the Treaty. An animated discussion took place at the Trades’ Union Congress, the Police Union delegates coniplaining that the Parliamentary Committee was failing to support the police strikers. Mr Sexton, M.P., declared that Marston, the Union’s secretary was responsible for the Union’s defeat. After hcated pzfs'sago_q ‘the police delegates withdrew the motion. ’ DIRECT ACTION. ' LONDON, Sept, 10. it is, understood that feeling in the Trades’ _ Union Congress regarding direct action will he tested on an explicit resolution, and yesterday’s decision referring the report back was intended to marl: the delegates.’ protest against the .Pal-liamentary Committees’ failure to afford the ariiplest opportunity for a discussion on the question.
