METEOROLOGICAL NOTES.
The rainfall for the month of Aug‘ust, 1919, was 4.09 inches. There were 21 days with rain and the maximum fall was 0.97 inches on the 17th. "The average fall for the corresponing mouth of the previous 15 years is 2.62 inches. The mean maximum temperature in the shade was 49_36 deg. F., the extreme being 58 deg. F. on the 14th. The mean minimum temperature In the shade Was 37.9 deg. F., the extreme being 31.3 deg. F. on the 21st. The mean terrestial radiation (temperature on grass) was 35_2 deg. F.. the minimuni being 23.1 deg. F. on 21st. The mean earth temperature at 2ft” Was 45.4 deg. F., rising to 46.8 deg. F. on the 313:; for, the cor-respondina; month last year the mean was 43.7‘ deg.
