JAPAN STANDS BY CHINA. M 7 NE WYORK, Aug. 29. The Times Washington correspondent states that according to advices fmyn Tnlzizv, M: Yoko Hvamaguchi, presi"dent cf a }rominen-t Japanese bank, has issued» a statement that*a financial consortium will not only ‘threaten the indeIxendence of China, but will mean her death, and it is not advisable that Japan should participate in the joint _?.oans. “At the cost of our right of priority already acquired in China, We must seize the opportunity for promoting the common interests of China and Japan for the sake of the peace of the Far East.” Eiamaguehi added: “England Wants railroads built in Southern China, and Japan Wants rail--ways in Northern China. England lacks funds, and’ is hardly in »a position ‘tovexercise the rights of priority in China_’’
