MEAT AND WHEAT." T TIMARU, Aug. 30. The South Canterbury "Union Executive togday decided ill favour of the meat commandeer being continued until the stores are freed of Imperial meat. The Wxanganui suggestion that a commission be sent to England wasnot endorsed_ The opinion was expressed that there will be less wheat sown this year, and it was resolved to »ask the new Minister of ‘Agriculture to deel-are fixed prices for next season fs Wheat. Comment was made that the cost of threshing was too high. The rumour that ‘the New Zealand Government has sold the Home Gnovernment two million bushels of Austnalian Wheat ,not brought over was discussed, and it was remarked that it will be required here next year. It was decided to ask the Wheat Controller i‘f.‘rhat sale has been made. ’
