i CHILD WHO’ SWALLOWED A I COIN. 7 Stanley Fazackerley, the three-year-old son of a Preston weaver, picked up a half-penny belonging to another boy at school, and put it in his mouth. By some accident the child swallowed the coin and became ill. The teacher asked him what was the matter, and he pointed to his mouth, and said, “Penny—nlouth.” He was taken to the Royal Infirmary and operated on, the halfpenny being removed from his gullet_ The ‘operation was apparently successful, but the child died later from syncope. At the inquest at Preston a Verdict 01 death from misadvenfcure was returned.
