He declared that he was a brother of the Mr Hall in the fil'm’s employ, and said 1-1:111 had died that morning. “Before he died,’,’ he added, “he was much worried about a matter of £lO he had from the petty cash, and I would like to send you :1 cheque for that amount.'’’
The prisonol‘ arranged to call and see Mr Lovcgrove about_tlle matter, but in the meantime investigations were made and the forgeries discovered. I -
Inspctor Nowell, of the City Police. proved a. number of previous convic. tions against Hall for forgery and fa] ony. ‘ After coming out of prison in -1917 he_ob-tained a situation in the Air Ministry, and when later on they asked for three references he sent in his ‘resignation. ‘ ~ . Sentence of three years’ penal servi‘tude. was passed. ‘
