‘AN ALARMING FALL. ‘ BERLIN, Aug. 25. A headlong fall of German exchange is alarming financiers. It is attributed to various causes, partly to the enormous quantity of paper money abroad, including o'ne hundred million sterling in ‘Switzerland and smaller sums in Scandinavia and Holland, due to unauthorised purchases combined with the exportation of private German capital in order to avoid taxation. ANOTHER STORY. AMSTERDAM, August 25; Deposits in German savings banks at the end of _l9lß amounted to thirtYthree million marks, compeired with ;twenty millions before the war.
