MR ARROWSMITH IN REPLY.
, (T 0 the Editor) - Bir,—ln your yesterda.y’s issue appears a letter which is unsigned, but is evidently from -the pen of His Worship the Mayor_ lam very pleased to note that he admits that “no reference was made -to Mr Al-rowsmith’s' meeting” as. that was the sole complaint made in my previous letter, namely, that His Worship did not inform the Council that the ratepayers on that occasion had had an opportunity of indicating whether they preferred concrete or asphalt. I take no notice of his further remarks. which are merely ab'li§ive, and do not ruffle me, but I cannot restrain from a smile at the “over-worked Mayor,’ as I have heard that the Deputy-Mayor is also over-worked, though he does not say so.—l am, etc., » A. L. ARROWSICEITH. (Through a prin‘ter’s oversight, Mr Joblin’s name was omitted from the foot of a. letter headed, “Mr Arrowsmith’s Letter,” appearing in yester‘vda.y’s paper. While ‘regretting the omission,‘we fell sure the identity of the writer was never in doubt.—Ed.)
