WELLINGTON, this day. The H.M.-S. New Zealand arrived and ‘anchored in the .'§7:‘re/am at 8.30 this inoriiiiig for medical inspection, after which, if satisfactory, the warship berths at Queen’s Wharf.
GREAT \ENTHUSI‘A!Sfl\I SHOWFN. WELLINGTON, "this day. There was glorious weafthcr this morning for the arrival of the New Zealand, which entered th? heads at half: past seven. The vessel was brought alongside Queen’s Wharf by the harbourmaster, and Lord Jcllicoe iandcd soon after ten, the shore batteries firing a. salute of 19 guns, and crowds giving Lord Jellicoep a greaf reception. Lord Jcllicoe paid -on official visit to the Governor-Gieneral, ;whio rdturn-.ed thie» call at 11 a.m., a salute of 19 guns being firod by the New Zealand on this latter occasion. Official visits were also paid by the Commandant of the Forces, Prime Minister, Sir J. G. Ward, and Mzl.y‘.ol‘- Gfdat enthusiasm prevailed during ‘the march of 250 sailors to the Town Hall, and this was redoubled during Lord Jcllicoe’s progress to’ the same destination to a. civic reception_ ‘

No trace has been found of the missing young man, Linton Runciman. =Runciman spent the week-end at his home at Makirika ‘Station, and left on Sunday on his return to Horohora, Sta~ tion, in company with another. They had to cross a. flooded creek, and Runcinlan’s mate was swept down the stream, where he scrambled out. He s-a.w no Sign of his companion. A search was instituted. ‘Subsequently Runciman’S horse was found on the opposite side of the creek_ The’ missing man has only just returned from service in France. V
