A popular science journal devotes an article to “The Importance of a. Straight Back,” and compares modern athletes with those of ancient Rome. “Historically,” says the writer, .‘‘hll- - DoStlll’e has changed little, if any, in 2000 years. The parent must look out for this when the child is taken to the tailor. “The means preventive of stooping posture ax-e:———The improvement of the general health, the I'enloVal so far as possible of prolonged muscular strain and the fitting of seats to the sitters. “The stooped one can aid the cure by bringing the arms sideward and backward and pulling the chin and neck back as fer as possible. Parents might join with the children in such exercises. Shoulder braces can be used if needful. The man who invents a -harness which will also hold the neck back will deserve a fortune.”
