PATRIOTIC WAR FUNDS.
Y.M.C.A,’s. VINDICAT-lON_ WELLINGTON, Aug. 12. VViih respect to the demand by the Returned Soldiers’ Associatioii for a Royal Commission to inquire into the whole question of patriotic war funds, it appears from correspondence published the Y.M_C.'A. is the body t.:- whose accounts the Minister-’s attcntion has been drawn by the Association. The Y.M.C;A. says it courts the fullest inquiry. Owing to the ramification of its work in various countries, the task of preparing the balance-sheet is necessarily lengthy. but the Government auditors have now completed their work, nad the figures will shortly be available The Returned Soldiers’ Association is still urging the Minister to comply with its request. ‘ '
