THE DANCE OF THE SEASON.

The Town Hall should be well filled ' to-night, when the series of enter-K tainments under the auspices of the’ Returned Soldiers] ‘Association will be‘ continued, The previous social of this series’ was popularly described as] the best dance of the season, but tb,c/1 euchre party and social to-night is} sure to eclipse all the previous enter-*1 tainments of this popular series. The artistic decorations which were used in connection with the Masonic Ball have been kindly left intact, the supper room is tastefully decorated, the floor is perfect, and the stage space has been allotted to the competitors for the cuchre prizes. The supper will be up to the usual standard and a claret cup is being provided. The rapid and dramatic series of events which preceded the collapse of Bela Kun’s Government was the result of discontent amongst the semistarvcd people concurrent. With the success of the approaching Roumanian forces, wliichitogether sealed the fate of the Sovieters. Troops in Buda Pest, except the picked terrorists section, were found unreliable. The majority were recently armed workmen dissatisfied with their pay, and only awaited an opportunity to revolt. After a meeting of Cabinet the Saoldiers’ and Workmen’s Council debated the position. The principal speake-r attributed the crisis to the failure of the world revolution and lack of aid from Russia, as Well as the unreadiness oi‘ the Hungarian proletariat to make further sacrifices.-. Bolsheviks agreed with the hopelessness of the military situation; the only ‘course was to revert to a democratic basis.
