ISSUE OF WAR MEDALS.

CONDITIONS ANNOUNCED. ' ALL WITH FOREIGN SERVICE. The conditions that will govern the issue of the British War Medal, 19141919, have been announced in a special order, which reads as follows:—1. (b) Members of women formaations who have been enrolled under a direct contract of service for service with His Majcsty’s Imperial Forces. (c) All who served on staiifs of military hospitals and all members of recognised organisations who actually handled sick and wounded hren. (d) Members 01 dutly recognised or authorised organisations (c) Enrolled and attested followers of the establishmcnt Of units of the Indian ‘Army. 3.. The medal in bronze will be granted to all British subjects who were enrolled in native labour corfis units and who served in theatres of

war. 4. The riband will be centre orange watered, with stripes of white and black on each side and with borders of royal blue. 5. ‘lnstructions as to the Submission of claims and the disposal of the medals will be issued in due course. 6. Until the medal is available for issue the riband may be worn by individuals entitled to the medal under the above conditions. Supplies of riband have been ordered from England, and so soon as thes e become available a. supply will be issued to districts to enable free, issue of four inches of riband to be made to each individual entitled to the medal. 7_ Correspondence in connection with war medals will be addressed to the §fl‘icer-in-Charge, Base Records, Wellington, who is charged with the preparation of the medal rolls.
