The fourth of the series of’entertainme7il‘t_s_ under the auspices of the Taihape ‘Retu'rne’d‘ Soldiers‘ Association was held at the Town_l-lall last nig'.h.f-;;l‘vhen more than-‘j‘Jhe'V:_Lhundred couples participated in the social and dance. The‘ floor wasin perfect order‘ and the decorations which were generouslylent, for the occasion added ‘K’ colour to the. scene of gaiety. Excel--‘lent music was supplied by Mrs. Webb who was at her-best, and extras were played by Miss McPhee, and Messrs. Kennetmfir, Sinclair, and Howie. ‘An excellent supper was provided, and Was‘. done full justice to.

The committee is indebted to Mrs J’. Webb, who supplied the music grafis; to Miss D. Dyer and Mesdames J. Dyer, Ellison, J. W. Upchurch and E. Lenihan, who had charge of the supper arangements; to Messrs_ Capill Bros._. for use of motor car and other‘ services; and to the ladies and gentle: men who undertook the sale of tickets?

The social and dance was the most successful of the series to date, and it is pleasing to note that sociability was a. feature of the proceedings throughout.

The next entertainment will be a;. social and dance and euchre party, which will be held at the Town Half on Wednesday, August 6th.
