I It would be interesting to know whether steps will be taken to preserve Jule pens used for signing the Treaty ‘of Versailles. In the French Foreign "ofl°lC'G. in Paris tlu-re is a small leollecticn c-fhistoric pens preserved in la. show-case. These I'M!-f.~’<‘ from the pen with which Bismarck and Jules Fayre signed the armistice at Versailles 011 J:lnuai'y 28. 1871, to that ywith which l\rluley,l-laflcl signed the treaty 61‘ March 30, 1912, giving the ‘French a protectorate over Morocco. ‘The collection also inclurles the pen used by President McKinley and M. Cambon when they arariis?3il the preliminaries of peace between "Spain and the United States, and the onm with which Gambetta wrote announc-i ing the 1-esigiiatioii of “le Granil Min- 11 istere.” This last relin was presented‘ by M_ Hanotziux when he reigned af the Qllaycl’Oi‘sa_\f. The ‘lrlmpress Eugenio (who is now n‘7(‘:‘ 90 years of age) stil],ti'ea’sill-«is: the quill, plucked from an eagle. lrnlonging to the Jardin deg Plantes which was presented to her after being used to sign the Treaty of Pziris. l
