I The Executive Committee appointed ’ to arrange for ‘the sports in connection with Peace Celebrations on the, 21st inst., met Westerday. 1 The original programme drawn up has been cancelled, and a programme! more befitting the climatic -conditions likely’ to prevail, was considered. . . c It was finally decided to hold a{ "(seven-ea.-side football tournament, a. five-a-side ladies hockey match, and at rtug-ofwar contest. , L These items will occupy the time ' available a.fter'the procession arrives ~ at the Domain ground, and can be held in any kind of Weather, wet. or fine. Teams for the football tournament will be limited :to four, and for Ladies’ hockey two. Entry will be free, ‘and each member of Winning team will ' receive a gold medal. . p V l The prize for tug—of—war will be ' £1 ‘per man; entry is free, and teams will consist of seven men. l A special trophy will be presented I to best returned soldier footballer in the backs, and also in the forwards in '§the sevenia-Isidxe ‘ftournambnt.
