Saturday. Your latest decision cancelling all special trains will exclude a large number of children_ ‘We want but a couple of short runs, namely, to and from Utiku and Hihitahi, and we ask you to arrange with the railway authorities to leave zthis inhthe hands’ of the local stationmastcrf
A reply to the above telegram was received:-—Th_e question of special railway trains is entirely ‘one for the gyiinister of Railways, :to whom I have referred your wire‘, ‘ ' ‘At the last meeting of the local committee it was decided to adhere to the programme, as published in our issue yesterday. There will be no meeting of the Executive Commiftee to-night as the"bulk‘ of the work now devolves on the various sub-committees to complete their arrfingementg fox‘-the two days’ celebrations now decided upon.
