The mean maximum temperature in the shade for the month was 47.7 deg., F.; the mean minimum temperature in the shade was 36.6 deg., the extremes being 58.8 deg. F., on the 18th, and 29.8 deg. F., on the Ist and 3rd. The lowest reading on the grass was 23 deg. F., on the 23rd, the mean for the month being 33.1 Ideg. F. The mean earth temperature at 2ft. was 46.2 deg.
