DEATH OF MR. W.J. BASHFORD.
I It is with regret that we have to re[Cord the death of a Well-known ‘townsinan, in the person of Mr, 7.‘. J_ Bashford, printer, which occurred in Ruanui Hospital on Sunday morning. Mr. B_ashford, Whu nad not in particularly good health for some time, ontered thc hospital for medical treatment about ten days ago, during ':"uich period he underwent a very minor operation. He was getting on ‘very favourably, and‘ when last seen ]by the nurse during the rounds on ‘Saturday night, was sleeping. On Sun- . day morning, on going to his room, he was found to be dead,’ having," apparlently, passed away in his sleep. The [cause of death was septic absorption { and pneumonia. Mr Bashford, who was a native of ITonbridge, England, came to New Zea. jland, in“1909, and followed his trade ,as a printer in Hastings for some years, Leafing ‘Hastings he bought} the printery business of Wansborough i and Co., at Taihape, which he . was! can-ying on at the time of his dea.th.E Three years ago he married Miss Millier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mil'—§ H9l‘; of Hastings, There are two child-’ ren of the marriage, the youngest be-I ing a month old. Mi‘. Bashford was esteemed by all' with Whom he came in contact for his ! Straightforward, honourable character.’ The S3/mllathy of all will go out to the} bereaved Widow? and children in their: sad loss. The funeral will leave «St. Margaret ’s ' Church to—mol‘fow, at 2.30 p.m., for the - Taihape Cemetery. . ‘ !
