‘ ' STOCK SALES. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd. report on their Marton Sale on Tuesday a fair yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle. Sheep were in much better demand especially hoggets. We quote: M/s hoggefs, good 20/ to 22/6; fair‘ 62) 12/ to 15/; 2th wethcrs 30/; ewes‘ ii la% 23/ to 26/3; fat ewes 24/6. empty _ewes 14/1 to 16/3; m/s weaners ZO/. _ Messrs. Abraham ‘and Williams Ltd_, report a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle at-their Palmerston North Sale on the 26th inst. All lots were sold at satisfactory prices. -We quotc:——-Sheep: Woolly lambs 13/ to 17/6, shorna medium ‘lambs 11/5 to 13/10, B.F. Lambs good, 15/3 to 16/9 B.F. Lambs medium 11/5 to 14/. Cattle: Forward cows £6 10/, £7 12/6, £8 5/, to £9 10/; store cows £4 2/6, .94 7/6 to £5; cows in calf £5/, £5 17/6 to £7 10/. 4

PALMERSTON NORTH HIDE AND TALLOW SALES.

Messrs_ Abraham and Williazrls, Ltd., report at our sale held on’ the 26th inst., we offered a very large catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. One line of hides and a few lines of calfskins were taken by the Tanners at Government schedule rates. The balance which comprised some very nice lines of hides were submitted to auction and these met with very keen eompetitioij making from 2d to 3d per lb. over Government schedule rates:—-One ox hide making as high as £6, Tallow also sold well. We quote:—Ox heavy 15d to 14?3d, ox medium 14§,d to 15 5-Bd, ox light 13d to Mid, cow heavy 13?,—d to 143,-Ad, cow medium 133 d to Mid, cow_light 12d to 143 d, cut, slippy and inferior 1o 7-8 d to 13 7.3 a, horse hides 13/6' to 22/6 each.
