Mr. Robinson said the terminal towns had a responsibility in this matter, and he thought that the borough council and thy Raetihi Town Board-should contribute to the cost of making the road. {He said that there was £4,000 available for the construction of the road. There were 20 chains of road unmetalled in the Wanganui County_ Mr. Neilson said that the townspeople did not seem to realise the importance of constructing arterial roads into the centre of the county. one went nine miles into the county. and there the road ended with a quarterof a million acres» behind it, The valume of trafiic in Wanganui was small compared with what would come in with a better system of roads.
