WATER DIVINATION.
Mr. A. C. Clark, a. water divin€~r_, gave a demonstration on Saturday on Mr. Preston’s nroperty, Seatmznf Heights, ‘Wellington, to, :1 party «:13 visitors who were greatly intereszed in the proceedings. Mr_ Clarke had previously indicated the pres-znce of an underground supp'.l__v of water, 290 feet above Sea level, and on :1 well being sunk a good flow was obtairued at 50 feet, and 0.5 fair quality f'~r drinking purposfi. FOX, and the Town Clerk, of Wellington, Mr. J_ R. Palmer, Mr. Clarke, used a forked stick of any kind of wood that was handy, and he also used his hands only. To do it often, Mr? Clarke said it took it out of him, as it affected the heart; in some way, and he was manifestly fatigued after the demonstration. He admits he eannot explain how it is that he is able by means of a twig; to indicate where there is an unclerground water supply, The Mayor of Miramar, says the Evening Post, referred to the disabili« ‘ties that residents of‘ Seatoun Heights laboured under with respect of water }supply. They should have the water, he said. If not in the usual Way, then 'perhaps it might be the way Mr_ Clarke had demonstrated to them; at any rate, the residents on the heights should have the water they had so }long waited for. An informal meeting ;of the Council was then held, and it was decided that the Council should consider that the Council should con« sider the utilisation "of Mr, Clarke’s services in the borough in order to locate water‘.
