The conference between the Minister of Railways and the Engine-drivers’, Fh-emcn’s, and Cleaners’ Association, regarding the new schedule of pay «and conditions in the service, concluded’ t.oday. It cannot be anllolinced whether a settlement was reached, because the Union delegates have to submit the matter to the members of their organisation. It is understood that no im~ portzant alteration has been made in the Department ’s proposals.
