The scheme was originated by ‘ Major-General Sir W. Robin, K.C.M.G., C. 8., and is backed by Dr. Anderson, , Director of Education for the Dominion, and Colonel H. R. Potter, C.M.G., who are the l Trustees; besides having the support of a very large number of gentlemen of substantial ‘ standing and integrity. i ‘; So the children are in good hands, so long as the money is forthcoming. And in such a cause ‘ there is going to be no difficulty about that! To begin with, every one of the prizes is a- free gift from a aympathiser. None oi the ticket-money is to be expended on prizes. 1 There's something like £6,300 in prizes—-—a first prize worth £IOOO-—but if there wasn’t a blessed l cent to be got out of it you'd gladly dip deep into your pocket, wouldn't you ?
