TAIHAPE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

PUBLIC NOTICE ,is hereby given that the Taihape Borough Council intends at a meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, Main Street, Taihape, on Friday, 20th June, 1919, at 7.30 p.m., to MAKE AND LEVY the following Kates for the period commencing on the First Day of April, 1919, and ending on the Thirty-first Day of March. 1920. Such Rates to bo payable in one sum at the office of the Taihape Borough Council, situate in Main Street, Taihape, during office hours, on the ' First Day of August. 1919: I.—GENERAL RATE under the provisions of Section 78 of "The Municipal Corporations Act. 1908," and of "The Rating Act, 1908," and all amendments thereto, oif three pence (3d.) in the pound (£) on the unimproved value of all rateable property as appearing on the Government Valuation Roll for the time being in force in respect of the Borough of Taihape. 2 A SEPARATE WATER EATE (Ordinary Supply) under the provisions of Section 51 of "The Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913," and, Sections 48 to 55 of "The Rating Act, 1908," and Section 2 of "The Rating Amendment Act, 1911 " and all amendments thereto: (a) On all lands and buildings to which water is supplied, a Rate of one penny three farthings (ljfd.) in the pound (£) on the unimproved value thereof. (b) On all lands and buildings to which water can be, but 'is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks, a Rate of seven-eighths of a penny (£d.) in the pound (£) on the unimproved value thereof. (c) On all buildings used, at stores ci warehouses, or for purposes other than as dwelling-houses. a Rate similar to that mentioned in paragraph (b) hereof (3d. in the £).

3 A—SEPARATE LIGHTING RATE under the provisions of Section SS of "The Municipal Corporations Act 1908," and of Sections 48 to 55 of "The Rating Act, 1908," of one farthing (:3 d.) in the pound (£) on ihe unimproved value of all rateable property ,as appearing on the Government Valuation Roll for the time being in force, in respect of the Borough of Taihape. 4. A SEPARATE RATE FOR HOSPITAL- AND CHARITABLE, AID PURPOSES, under the provisions of Section 41 of "The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act. 1909," Sections 48 to 55 of "The Rating Act, 1908," Section 2 of "The Rating Amendment Act, 1911," and "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," of one farthing (;d.) in the pound (•£) on the unimproved value of all rateable property as appearing on the) G(overnm'ent Valuation Roll for the time being in force, in respect of the Borough. of Taihape. And pursuant J ;o Section 50 of "The Rating Act, lp08," and amendment.* thereto, PUBLIC NOTICE is further given that the VALUATION ROLL is- open for inspection at the Town Clerk's office, Main Stveot, Tariiape, during office hours.
