o— SENSATIONAL CHARGES. VANCOUVER, May S. Mr. William Duff created a sensation in. the Canadian House of Commons, by attacking the Canadian naval ad ministration at Halifax during the war_ He asserted that the captain of the auxiliary vessel, Hochelaga, 46ST tons, turned tail when ho saw a submarine and ran for port, and that while a United States tanker was being sunk by a slubmarine Canadian officers were drinking tea and playing bridge at Halifax. Mr. William Duff asked for Parliamentary investigation ir.'M these charges, and argued that Canada should either spend £20,000,000 on an efficient navy, or abandon the whole idea. •
