NEW HUSBAND FOR OLD.
WOMAN ASKS MAGISTRATE FOR A “CHANGE OVER.”
“Can I have a new husband for the old one?” was the request made by a woman to the Highgate magistrate recently.
She explained that her married life had been very unhappy, and her husband had not maintained he r for some time. Now she had met a “nice young man” whom she wanted to marry “But you cannot have two husbands.' said the clerk. “I donf want two,’ the woman replied. “ I only want a change over.”
The clerk reminded her that if she married the young man she would be liable to be charged with bigamy. “Oh. I’ll take the risk.” said Hie woman. "I'm a sport.
